CELEBRATING LILY ♡
Today was a very special day for Lily. Today was her graduation from St Andrews Preschool!
Lily and her family have been part of our centre community since Lily was four years old. Now it is time for her to go to primary school.
At St Andrews Preschool we celebrate this milestone with a special graduation celebration.
We celebrate the child’s birthday and graduation together at mat time. Parents, grandparents and friends are most warmly welcomed to join us.
The teachers share some of the special things about the child and goes through the child’s portfolio, following their preschool journey. We all look at the self-portrait on their very first day and notice how they have changed over their time at preschool. They also compare their handprint now against the size of the one in their portfolio on their first day or preschool.
Finally, the child is presented with their very own children’s bible which has a special messages written on the inside cover from each of the teachers.
Lily, we have loved getting to know you.
Some things that we love about you are your kind and friendly nature. You are very polite and accepting of both children and teachers alike. Your gentle spirit is very inviting and you have quickly developed many friendships at Preschool. We love your creativity as well and how you will take the time to paint, cut and glue, and draw.
We’ve noticed that you enjoy being with people and you enjoy pretend play, especially in the family area. You often can be found pretending to have a tea party with your friends or pretending to be mothers caring for babies. We also noticed that you enjoy being active and playing games outside and climbing on the playground.
Lily, you are very interested in developing new challenges on the monkey bars! You have taught several children about the many ways that you have figured out how to cross the bars. You even created an obstacle course that included the monkey bars. You are also very interested in creating your name whether it’s with a pencil, felts or paints, you love showing the teachers and your friends how you can write your name.
The character virtues we have seen you develop are friendliness, caring towards others, helpfulness at tidy up time and with jobs at preschool, perseverance when it comes to completing the challenges that you set for yourself, and generosity when it comes to taking turns and sharing toys.
Lily, this is our prayer for you as you transition to school: Lily, we pray that your time at school will be full of challenges that will build your confidence and bring you joy in knowing that you have the power to achieve. We pray that you will build lasting friendships that will be full of trust, caring and compassion. We will miss you Lily, Jesus is with you.
May you continue to know the joy of exploring and being inquisitive. Never forget that you are special and precious.
Lily, it was our pleasure to celebrate YOU today!
We are sad to say goodbye to you, but we proudly send you off to your new adventure at school with our love, support and blessing ♡
