CELEBRATING JAKE ♡
Today was a very special day for Jake. Today was his graduation from St Andrews Preschool!
Jake and his family have been part of our centre community since Jake was three years old. Now it is time for him to go to primary school.
At St Andrews Preschool we celebrate this milestone with a special graduation celebration.
We celebrate the child’s birthday and graduation together at mat time. Parents, grandparents and friends are most warmly welcomed to join us.
The teachers share some of the special things about the child and goes through the child’s portfolio, following their preschool journey. We all look at the self-portrait on their very first day and notice how they have changed over their time at preschool. They also compare their handprint now against the size of the one in their portfolio on their first day or preschool.
Finally, the child is presented with their very own children’s bible which has a special messages written on the inside cover from each of the teachers.
Jake, we have loved getting to know you.
Some things that we love about you are your willingness to help. When it comes to help out new children at the centre to find their way or helping with a building project, you are there to offer your advice and support. We love your sense of humor Jake, you are always up for a good laugh and finding the funny side to situations.
We’ve noticed that you enjoy friendships and you have made many friends here at preschool. You enjoy being in the sandpit, whether its digging the deepest hole possible, building tunnels or using the pipes and water to create rivers, the sandpit has been one of your go-to places for exploration. Building long, long ladders with the Mobilo is also one of your favorite things to do.
Jake, you are very interested in construction, whether it is with Lego, blocks, mobilo or duplo. You are interested in rugby and you often talk about the All Blacks and being down at the local rugby club with your family. You also enjoy other sports such as cricket and tennis and you like to kick the ball around the yard at preschool. You are also interested in writing and drawing.
The character virtues we have seen you develop are friendliness towards others and learning how to communicate your ideas with your friends, patience with turn-taking, purposefulness with your creations, and generosity with sharing your ideas and resources with others.
Jake this is our prayer for you as you transition to school: We pray that your school journey will be full of fun and adventure as you learn more about the world and learn more about yourself. We pray that you will make lasting friendships that will bring out the best in you and we pray that your kind and loving nature will be a shining light in the community. Jesus loves you Jake!
May you continue to know the joy of exploring and being inquisitive. Never forget that you are special and precious.
Jake, it was our pleasure to celebrate YOU today!
We are sad to say goodbye to you, but we proudly send you off to your new adventure at school with our love, support and blessing ♡
