CELEBRATING BAXTER ♡
Today was a very special day for Baxter. Today was his graduation from St Andrews Preschool!
Baxter and his family have been part of our centre community since Baxter was three years old. Now it is time for him to go to primary school.
At St Andrews Preschool we celebrate this milestone with a special graduation celebration.
We celebrate the child’s birthday and graduation together at mat time. Parents, grandparents and friends are most warmly welcomed to join us.
The teachers share some of the special things about the child and goes through the child’s portfolio, following their preschool journey. We all look at the self-portrait on their very first day and notice how they have changed over their time at preschool. They also compare their handprint now against the size of the one in their portfolio on their first day or preschool.
Finally, the child is presented with their very own children’s bible which has a special messages written on the inside cover from each of the teachers.
Baxter, we have loved getting to know you.
Some things that we love about you are your problem solving skills, especially when it comes to construction. You are the first to jump in when you can see solutions and your friends appreciate your input. We love your creative ideas as well and how you can draw your ideas on paper easily.
We’ve noticed that you enjoy building and constructing, especially with your friends. Whether it’s building with blocks, Lego, Duplo, or train tracks, you seem to have the knack for turning any materials into masterpieces. You also enjoy being in the sandpit creating intricate waterways, volcanoes and tunnels.
Baxter, you are very interested in reading stories about nature, dinosaurs and volcanoes. You love to learn facts about plants, animals, insects and the natural world around you. You are interesting in puzzles, constructing, writing your name and making pictures for your friends. You also have an interest in fishing and making fishing poles.
The character virtues we have seen you develop are communicating your ideas, patience in understanding your friends’ feelings and being confident to ask for help when you need it. We have seen you develop responsibility for your belongings and responsibility for the preschool resources as well. You also have a friendly way of greeting the teachers and children each day.
Baxter this is our prayer for you as you transition to school: We pray that you will make friends quickly at school and that these friends will encourage you to develop your skills in writing and constructing. We pray that school will be a time of fun, laughter and inspiration as you learn and grow. We will miss you Baxter. Jesus is with you my friend.
May you continue to know the joy of exploring and being inquisitive. Never forget that you are special and precious.
Baxter, it was our pleasure to celebrate YOU today!
We are sad to say goodbye to you, but we proudly send you off to your new adventure at school with our love, support and blessing ♡
