CELEBRATING DANIEL ♡
Today was a very special day for Daniel. Today was his graduation from St Andrews Preschool!
Daniel and his family have been part of our centre community since Daniel was three years old. Now it is time for him to go to primary school.
At St Andrews Preschool we celebrate this milestone with a special graduation celebration.
We celebrate the child’s birthday and graduation together at mat time. Parents, grandparents and friends are most warmly welcomed to join us.
The teachers share some of the special things about the child and goes through the child’s portfolio, following their preschool journey. We all look at the self-portrait on their very first day and notice how they have changed over their time at preschool. They also compare their handprint now against the size of the one in their portfolio on their first day or preschool.
Finally, the child is presented with their very own children’s bible which has a special messages written on the inside cover from each of the teachers.
Daniel, we have loved getting to know you.
Some things that we love about you are your ability to recall information! On several occasions you have impressed us with your ability to remember details of stories and experiences that you have had. This knowledge has come through when you create with blocks and Lego and you have made wonderful and purposeful creations, paying attention to the details of your work.
We’ve noticed that you enjoy sharing your ideas with others and you enjoy working in a group You can often be found with many friends alongside you who are on board with your vision and together you and your friends create, play and explore. You also enjoy leadership roles and sharing your ideas and experiences with the whole group at mat times.
Daniel, you are very interested in creating with blocks, Lego, and mobilo. You also enjoy cars and you often talk about the cars that you have at home and cars and machinery that you have seen in the community. You enjoy creating at the carpentry area as well and you carefully plan your creations to make them look as life-like as possible. Friendships are also important to you.
The character virtues we have seen you develop are friendliness, cooperation with others, patience with turn-taking, perseverance with goals that you set for yourself and creativity in your work and games that you create and determination in solving problems. You also have a strong sense of justice and you like to see wrongs made right.
Daniel, this is our prayer for you as you transition to school: We pray that your knowledge will continue to grow and that you will continue to search out understanding about the world around you. We pray that your friendships will be filled with encouragement and inspiration as you develop into your leadership path.
May you continue to know the joy of exploring and being inquisitive. Never forget that you are special and precious.
Daniel, it was our pleasure to celebrate YOU today!
We are sad to say goodbye to you, but we proudly send you off to your new adventure at school with our love, support and blessing ♡
