CELEBRATING ELIJAH ♡
Today was a very special day for Elijah. Today was his graduation from St Andrews Preschool!
Elijah and his family have been part of our centre community since Elijah was three years old. Now it is time for him to go to primary school.
At St Andrews Preschool we celebrate this milestone with a special graduation celebration.
We celebrate the child’s birthday and graduation together at mat time. Parents, grandparents and friends are most warmly welcomed to join us.
The teachers share some of the special things about the child and goes through the child’s portfolio, following their preschool journey. We all look at the self-portrait on their very first day and notice how they have changed over their time at preschool. They also compare their handprint now against the size of the one in their portfolio on their first day or preschool.
Finally, the child is presented with their very own children’s bible which has a special messages written on the inside cover from each of the teachers.
Elijah, we have loved getting to know you.
Some things that we love about you are your interest in discovering new things and learning how things work. We love that you are interested in books and sharing your knowledge of the world around you. We love that you care and talk about your family and all of the adventures you take together.
We’ve noticed that you enjoy building and constructing whether it’s with wooden blocks, lego, duplo, or meccano, you enjoy creating buildings, towers and vehicles. You also enjoy baking whether at home or at preschool and you have helped out at the preschool kitchen with making many treats.
Elijah, you are very interested in vehicles of all shapes and sizes and knowing how they work and you often create vehicles that can transform into different shapes for different purposes. You are also interested in the Bible and you often share your knowledge of what you know about God and Jesus and you love hearing stories from the Bible and talking about Sunday School.
The character virtues we have seen you develop are friendliness, compassion for those who are hurt, cooperation with your peers, confidence to share your ideas, understanding of others and their needs/ideas, purposefulness in your play and in the things you create, and generosity.
Elijah, this is our prayer for you as you transition to school: We pray that you will continue to find joy in God’s Word, the Bible and that your school journey will be filled with adventure and discovery. We pray that the love of Jesus will shine through you Elijah and into the world! We will miss you Elijah.
May you continue to know the joy of exploring and being inquisitive. Never forget that you are special and precious.
Elijah, it was our pleasure to celebrate YOU today!
We are sad to say goodbye to you, but we proudly send you off to your new adventure at school with our love, support and blessing ♡
