CELEBRATING GEORGIA ♡
Today was a very special day for Georgia. Today was her graduation from St Andrews Preschool!
Georgia and her family have been part of our centre community since Georgia was three years old. Now it is time for her to go to primary school.
At St Andrews Preschool we celebrate this milestone with a special graduation celebration.
We celebrate the child’s birthday and graduation together at mat time. Parents, grandparents and friends are most warmly welcomed to join us.
The teachers share some of the special things about the child and goes through the child’s portfolio, following their preschool journey. We all look at the self-portrait on their very first day and notice how they have changed over their time at preschool. They also compare their handprint now against the size of the one in their portfolio on their first day or preschool.
Finally, the child is presented with their very own children’s bible which has a special messages written on the inside cover from each of the teachers.
Georgia, we have loved getting to know you.
Some things that we love about you are your caring and gentle nature. Children feel welcomed when they are with you and you take the time to look after others. We love your creative thinking and problem solving skills. You often share your ideas with teachers and children alike and you come up with helpful solutions.
We’ve noticed that you enjoy creating in the art area. Whether it’s with paints, glue, glitter or cutting, you seem to find enjoyment out of the masterpieces that you create. You not only enjoy creating in the art area but you also enjoy socializing with other children who are there as well. You also enjoy the social atmosphere of the sandpit and you often can be found whipping up any sort of recipe to share.
Georgia you are very interested in art, drawing, messy play, and building with clay. You like to use the glue guns to make presents to take home with you. You also like to construct with Lego and recently you have been interested in writing your name. You also enjoy being outside on the swings and coming up with games with your friends.
The character virtues we have seen you develop are friendliness towards the children and teachers, helpfulness with new children and tidy up times, creativity and purposefulness in your work, confidence in communicating your ideas, responsibility, generosity and kindness.
Georgia, this is our prayer for you as you transition to school: We pray that your school journey will be full of joy and excitement. We pray that you will make friends quickly and that these friends will be inspired to be as caring and kind as you. We will miss you Georgia. Remember that Jesus is always with you and He will never leave you!
May you continue to know the joy of exploring and being inquisitive. Never forget that you are special and precious.
Georgia, it was our pleasure to celebrate YOU today!
We are sad to say goodbye to you, but we proudly send you off to your new adventure at school with our love, support and blessing ♡
