CELEBRATING GRACE ♡
Today was a very special day for Grace. Today was her graduation from St Andrews Preschool!
Grace and her family have been part of our centre community since Grace was three years old. Now it is time for her to go to primary school.
At St Andrews Preschool we celebrate this milestone with a special graduation celebration.
We celebrate the child’s birthday and graduation together at mat time. Parents, grandparents and friends are most warmly welcomed to join us.
The teachers share some of the special things about the child and goes through the child’s portfolio, following their preschool journey. We all look at the self-portrait on their very first day and notice how they have changed over their time at preschool. They also compare their handprint now against the size of the one in their portfolio on their first day or preschool.
Finally, the child is presented with their very own children’s bible which has a special messages written on the inside cover from each of the teachers.
Grace, we have loved getting to know you.
Some things that we love about you are your willingness to help others. Time and time again Grace, you were there for others who were hurt or sad. We love that you are friendly and you include others. We also love how you find the humor in situations and how you love to have a laugh.
We’ve noticed that you enjoy being with people and sharing your ideas and knowledge. Friendships are important to you Grace. You enjoy being creative whether it’s making a picture at the art table or pretending to be a princess with the dress ups. You also enjoy your family Grace and you often talk about them at preschool.
Grace you are very interested in art work-painting, collage and making cards. You are interested in games, puzzles, and problem solving. You are interesting in baking, whether it is making playdough in the kitchen, making cakes in the sandpit or creating a picnic for your friends in the family area.
The character virtues we have seen you develop are love and loyalty towards your friends, caring and compassion for those in need, determination and perseverance in completing tasks that you set for yourself, and unity and joyfulness in bringing people together.
Grace, this is our prayer for you as you transition to school: We pray that your school journey will be filled with the same love and joy that you brought to St. Andrews Preschool! We pray that you will continue to make friends who make you smile and bring out the best in you Grace. Jesus is with you Grace. Keep shining your light!
May you continue to know the joy of exploring and being inquisitive. Never forget that you are special and precious.
Grace, it was our pleasure to celebrate YOU today!
We are sad to say goodbye to you, but we proudly send you off to your new adventure at school with our love, support and blessing ♡
