CELEBRATING JACKSON ♡
Today was a very special day for Jackson. Today was his graduation from St Andrews Preschool!
Jackson and his family have been part of our centre community since Jackson was three years old. Now it is time for him to go to primary school.
At St Andrews Preschool we celebrate this milestone with a special graduation celebration.
We celebrate the child’s birthday and graduation together at mat time. Parents, grandparents and friends are most warmly welcomed to join us.
The teachers share some of the special things about the child and goes through the child’s portfolio, following their preschool journey. We all look at the self-portrait on their very first day and notice how they have changed over their time at preschool. They also compare their handprint now against the size of the one in their portfolio on their first day or preschool.
Finally, the child is presented with their very own children’s bible which has a special messages written on the inside cover from each of the teachers.
Jackson, we have loved getting to know you.
Some things that we love about you are how you seem to notice when people need help and you like to cuddle your friends in order to help them feel better. We have also noticed that you like to share your ideas about building and creating with the children and teachers and you often have something to show at mat time.
We’ve noticed that you enjoy sharing stories about riding bikes and you even brought your own bike in to demonstrate how fast you can go. You also enjoy being with friends especially Toby, Daniel, Jodi, and Morgan. Some of your friends will be going to your same school and we know that you will have fun meeting new friends too!
Jackson, you are very interested in creating. You can often be found designing vehicles with mobilo, building garages and roads with the blocks and crafting carefully with Lego. You also find great joy in writing your name and sometimes you find the time to paint pictures.
The character virtues we have seen you develop are kindness towards others, generosity, friendliness especially when it comes to helping new children to settle in to preschool, caring, communicating and compassion.
Jackson, this is our prayer for you as you transition to school: We pray that you will continue to grow in confidence in communicating with others and that your friendly nature will attract friends that will build you up. Jesus is with you my friend.
May you continue to know the joy of exploring and being inquisitive. Never forget that you are special and precious.
