CELEBRATING LILY-MAE ♡

Today was a very special day for Lily-Mae.  Today was her graduation from St Andrews Preschool!

Lily-Mae and her family have been part of our centre community since Lily-Mae was three years old.   Now it is time for her to go to primary school.

At St Andrews Preschool we celebrate this milestone with a special graduation celebration.

We celebrate the child’s birthday and graduation together at mat time. Parents, grandparents and friends are most warmly welcomed to join us.1

The teachers share some of the special things about the child and goes through the child’s portfolio, following their preschool journey.  We all look at the self-portrait on their very first day and notice how they have changed over their time at preschool.  They also compare their handprint now against the size of the one in their portfolio on their first day or preschool.

Finally, the child is presented with their very own children’s bible which has a special messages written on the inside cover from each of the teachers.

Lily-Mae, we have loved getting to know you.

BELC HeartSome things that we love about you are your friendly spirit and how you are willing to help others in need. Your kind heart has helped you to make many friends who love being around you and will miss you dearly at preschool.

BELC HeartWe’ve noticed that you enjoy the family area, especially playing with your friends and pretending to be mums with babies or pets such as puppies or kittens. You have spent time doing many pieces of artwork and creating at the carpentry area and you also enjoy literacy activities such as listening to stories and practicing your writing.

BELC HeartLily-Mae, you are very interested in pretend play with puppets as well. You often requested to have the puppets and the puppet stage out where you could recruit your friends to join you in creating a show. The five little ducks and the mummy duck seemed to be your favorite. You are also very interested in going to school and you often talk about your knowledge of school.

BELC HeartThe character virtues we have seen you develop are confidence in speaking and sharing ideas, responsibility in looking after your belongings, caring and kindness for those who felt sad or needed help, and friendliness to teachers and children alike.

BELC HeartLily-Mae, this is our prayer for you as you transition to school:  We pray that you will continue to grow in confidence in speaking, writing and sharing your ideas. We pray that your school journey will be full of friendships that will last a lifetime and that you will discover new talents and skills that you will share with the world. We will miss you Lily-Mae.

May you continue to know the joy of exploring and being inquisitive. Never forget that you are special and precious.

Lily-Mae, it was our pleasure to celebrate YOU today!

We are sad to say goodbye to you, but we proudly send you off to your new adventure at school with our love, support and blessing ♡
