CELEBRATING MORGAN ♡
Today was a very special day for Morgan. Today was her graduation from St Andrews Preschool!
Morgan and her family have been part of our centre community since Morgan was three years old. Now it is time for her to go to primary school.
At St Andrews Preschool we celebrate this milestone with a special graduation celebration.
We celebrate the child’s birthday and graduation together at mat time. Parents, grandparents and friends are most warmly welcomed to join us.
The teachers share some of the special things about the child and goes through the child’s portfolio, following their preschool journey. We all look at the self-portrait on their very first day and notice how they have changed over their time at preschool. They also compare their handprint now against the size of the one in their portfolio on their first day or preschool.
Finally, the child is presented with their very own children’s bible which has a special messages written on the inside cover from each of the teachers.
Morgan, we have loved getting to know you.
Some things that we love about you are your kind and gentle spirit. You are always polite and thoughtful and you have been a wonderful friend to others at preschool. You are also very creative and you often shared your ideas with us and spent time at the art table drawing, painting and gluing.
We’ve noticed that you enjoy the family area and you could often be found with your friends pretending to be mums with baby dolls, pretending to be kittens or puppies, or pretending to have a cup of tea with your best gals. You have also enjoyed sharing your knowledge and how events at preschool relate to events at home including bringing your new puppy to preschool!
Morgan, you are very interested in creative play and you often use your imagination to create stories. You enjoy the company of your friends and you have developed many friendships here at preschool, with children and teachers alike. You are also very interested in literacy and you have spent time enjoying puzzles, books, and writing words (especially writing your name). 🙂
The character virtues we have seen you develop are friendliness, purposefulness, kindness to others, sharing of your time and attention, and caring about your friends and animals. You have also developed your communication skills and have become braver in talking about what you are thinking and feeling.
Morgan, this is our prayer for you as you transition to school: We pray that your school journey will be full of happiness that is found in true friendship. We pray that you will grow in courage and bravely face any challenge that comes your way. We will miss your lovely gentle nature Morgan and we know that others will be just as blessed by having you around as we have.
May you continue to know the joy of exploring and being inquisitive. Never forget that you are special and precious.
Morgan, it was our pleasure to celebrate YOU today!
We are sad to say goodbye to you, but we proudly send you off to your new adventure at school with our love, support and blessing ♡
