CELEBRATING OLIVER ♡
Today was a very special day for Oliver. Today was his graduation from St Andrews Preschool!
Oliver and his family have been part of our centre community since Oliver was three years old. Now it is time for him to go to primary school.
At St Andrews Preschool we celebrate this milestone with a special graduation celebration.
We celebrate the child’s birthday and graduation together at mat time. Parents, grandparents and friends are most warmly welcomed to join us.
The teachers share some of the special things about the child and goes through the child’s portfolio, following their preschool journey. We all look at the self-portrait on their very first day and notice how they have changed over their time at preschool. They also compare their handprint now against the size of the one in their portfolio on their first day or preschool.
Finally, the child is presented with their very own children’s bible which has a special messages written on the inside cover from each of the teachers.
Oliver, we have loved getting to know you.
Some things that we love about you are how helpful you are to the teachers and children. You are always willing to help out when it is time to tidy up but you also like to help your friends to solve problems. We love that you are friendly and kind to all of the children and teachers at preschool and we love when you share your ideas with us.
We’ve noticed that you enjoy building with Mobilo, Duplo, Lego and with the wooden blocks. You enjoy role play and you can often be found making ice cream out of the road cones and balls. You like doing puzzles and you enjoy being with your friends. You have built strong relationships at preschool.
Oliver, you are very interested in being outdoors. You love to run, climb and swing on the playground, especially if your friends are with you too. You like to play in the sandpit and dig deep holes or create volcanoes. You also enjoy water play and using the saw in the carpentry area.
The character virtues we have seen you develop are caring and helpfulness with your friends and teachers, loyalty to your friends, respect, reliability, confidence in communicating your ideas, determination to finish the things that you start, and resilience when situations change.
Oliver this is our prayer for you as you transition to school: We pray that your time at school will be full of fun and adventure. We pray that you will make friendships that will encourage you to extend on your creativity. We pray that your kindness will inspire others to be kind as well and that you will gain more confidence in expressing your ideas. Jesus is with you Oliver!
May you continue to know the joy of exploring and being inquisitive. Never forget that you are special and precious.
Oliver, it was our pleasure to celebrate YOU today!
We are sad to say goodbye to you, but we proudly send you off to your new adventure at school with our love, support and blessing ♡
