CELEBRATING SIAN ♡
Today was a very special day for Sian. Today was her graduation from St Andrews Preschool!
Sian and her family have been part of our centre community since Sian was four years old. Now it is time for her to go to primary school.
At St Andrews Preschool we celebrate this milestone with a special graduation celebration.
We celebrate the child’s birthday and graduation together at mat time. Parents, grandparents and friends are most warmly welcomed to join us.
The teachers share some of the special things about the child and goes through the child’s portfolio, following their preschool journey. We all look at the self-portrait on their very first day and notice how they have changed over their time at preschool. They also compare their handprint now against the size of the one in their portfolio on their first day or preschool.
Finally, the child is presented with their very own children’s bible which has a special messages written on the inside cover from each of the teachers.
Sian, we have loved getting to know you.
Some things that we love about you are your gentle nature. Many children are attracted to your loving and kind manner. You are also very willing to help others when they need it, especially children who are new to preschool. You also take pride in being responsible and you love to be a leader.
We’ve noticed that you enjoy being with people, with your sister Liv but you also enjoy being with others and you have made friends easily at preschool. You also enjoy working together in a team setting where you can share your ideas with others. You also enjoy creating at the carpentry area, making pictures both by painting and drawing, and you enjoy building with mobilo.
Sian, you are very interested in literacy especially when it comes to writing your name and playing in the sandpit and in the water. You like creating at the art table especially with paint, glue and glitter and you enjoy dramatic and role playing games with your friends. You have recently demonstrated you interest in baking and helped to make a chocolate cake at preschool.
The character virtues we have seen you develop are responsibility when helping out with teachers and other children, creativity in your artwork, courtesy in considering the needs of new children, joyfulness in your play and pride in your creations, and cooperation in working with others.
Sian, this is our prayer for you as you transition to school: We pray that your school journey will be full of friendships that will bring out the best in you. We pray you as you learn and grow you will continue to appreciate knowledge and that you will be inspired to set more challenges for yourself. We will miss you at preschool Sian! Jesus is with you.
May you continue to know the joy of exploring and being inquisitive. Never forget that you are special and precious.
Sian, it was our pleasure to celebrate YOU today!
We are sad to say goodbye to you, but we proudly send you off to your new adventure at school with our love, support and blessing ♡
