Welcome Letter from Head Teacher Vanessa Arrowsmith

Dear Parents and caregivers,

We understand that choosing the right kindergarten for your little one is one of the most important decisions you will make, and we are delighted that you are considering Bethlehem College Kindergarten as the starting point for your child’s learning journey. We believe that relationships are at the heart of learning, and it is our joy and privilege to build warm, caring connections with both children and families. Our goal is to create a Christ-centred and nurturing environment where each unique child feels valued, supported, and inspired to explore the world around them.

At Bethlehem College Kindergarten, we believe that when children are truly valued, and loved, learning comes naturally. Our warm and caring environment fosters a sense of belonging, where each child is encouraged to explore, create, and discover at their own pace. What makes us different is our foundation in Christian values as we strive to develop bright minds as well as kind hearts, fostering a sense of purpose and belonging in every child.

Our daily program is designed to support your child to develop a love of learning as well as strengthen their intellectual, social, emotional, and spiritual development through play-based learning and engaging activities. Our teaching team are qualified and caring, ready to connect and support you as your child’s first teacher to learn how we can best partner with you on their learning journey.

Some of the things we especially love about our kindergarten is the beautiful, spacious outdoor play area, thoughtfully designed to encourage creativity, curiosity, and physical activity. From our vibrant vegetable garden to the exciting climbing wall, extensive bike track, our messy mud kitchen and sandpit, our outdoor environment invites children to run, play, and develop confidence in a natural setting. Surrounded by mature leafy trees, the setting provides a peaceful and enriching atmosphere, allowing children to learn and grow in a space that feels both safe and adventurous.

Beyond the gate of our kindergarten, your child’s learning extends into the wider Bethlehem College campus. Through regular excursions to the library, conservation area, and being offered the opportunity to explore the performing arts centre, children engage in meaningful experiences that spark curiosity and a love for learning. Our additional transition-to-school program ensures a smooth and confident step into their next stage of education, while opportunities such as participating in the Primary School’s activities and events create a sense of belonging in the wider school community.
