CELEBRATING SHAVANNAH ♡
Today was a very special day for Shavannah. Today was her graduation from St Andrews Preschool!
Shavannah and her family have been part of our centre community since Shavannah was four years old. Now it is time for her to go to primary school.
At St Andrews Preschool we celebrate this milestone with a special graduation celebration.
We celebrate the child’s birthday and graduation together at mat time. Parents, grandparents and friends are most warmly welcomed to join us.
The teachers share some of the special things about the child and goes through the child’s portfolio, following their preschool journey. We all look at the self-portrait on their very first day and notice how they have changed over their time at preschool. They also compare their handprint now against the size of the one in their portfolio on their first day or preschool.
Finally, the child is presented with their very own children’s bible which has a special messages written on the inside cover from each of the teachers.
Shavannah, we have loved getting to know you.
Some things that we love about you are your love for friendships and your love for your family. You often talk about your family and you make cards and pictures to give to them. You have made many friends here at preschool Shavannah and it is great to see your kind and caring nature shine through when you play. We also love your willingness to share your ideas.
We’ve noticed that you enjoy being creative, whether its painting, drawing, dancing or singing you are often found being involved in creative activities. You also enjoy being in the family area pretending to be a mum and looking after your babies or pretending to be a puppy or kitten that needs care. You enjoy being with your friends the most and no matter what activity you are involved in, you always include your friends.
Shavannah you are very interested in sharing your knowledge about the world and you often contribute to conversations and at mat times. You are interested in literacy and numeracy as well and you often gravitate towards activities involving literacy and numeracy. You are also interested in animals and you even got to bring your puppy Skyla to preschool and shared your knowledge about how to care for her.
The character virtues we have seen you develop are friendliness in your ability to quickly make friends, patience with turn taking and understanding others’ needs, loyalty, consideration, perseverance in completing tasks that you set for yourself, creativity through your artwork and projects, respect, kindness, and commitment.
Shavannah, this is our prayer for you as you transition to school: We pray that your school journey will be full of fun and adventure as you learn and grow. We pray that you will make lasting friendships that will fill your days with joy and laughter and that your friends will be as loyal to you as you are to them. We will miss your smiling face at preschool Shavannah and we hope that you will come back to visit. Jesus is with you!
May you continue to know the joy of exploring and being inquisitive. Never forget that you are special and precious.
Shavannah, it was our pleasure to celebrate YOU today!
We are sad to say goodbye to you, but we proudly send you off to your new adventure at school with our love, support and blessing ♡
